Without Addiction Angels of America I'm Not Sure Where I’d Be
I was an addict with no car, house, job, or any kind of stability for myself or kids
In 2010 my life changed drastically, I was a 21-year-old mother with a 5-year-old and a newborn. It was really hard being in college and trying to cope with my life.
I was never one to 'party.' I liked to hang out with friends or family but I never thought of myself of a 'partier' like most of the people I knew my age.
One day I decided to hang out with people that I shouldn't have. One thing led to another and over time I became addicted to opiates. I became so depressed I never left my house.
I wish I could go back and change a lot of my life but I can't. The road to recovery has been a long, bumpy one.
Since coming to Angels of America, I now have a great job, my own house, car & stability for my girls. Even more important, I am proud to say I have been clean & sober, I know without a doubt without Angels of America I wouldn't have come this far.
I thank God everyday for the gift of my new life. The road to recovery may be bumpy but sometimes you just have to buckle up. I finally got my smile back! Thanks to Addiction Angels of America.
